Adams Blogpost May 2024

This is usually my favorite month of the year, but this time I decided to spend it doing absolutely nothing.

Going on back-to-back trips is really exciting, but it’s cool to leave some time for yourself to process and reflect. This is what I decided to do for May; collect myself, collect some money and start preparing for the “life after volunteering”.

The beginning of the month marked a fresh start at work as we welcomed a new colleague to our team. There's always a mix of excitement and curiosity when someone new joins, and this time was no different. Our new teammate brought not just a wealth of experience, but also a contagious energy that quickly spread through the office. Their fresh perspectives and ideas have already started making a positive impact, and it's been inspiring to see how quickly they've become a part of our work family. The lunch breaks are a bit more lively now, with plenty of laughter and new stories to share.

At home, I decided it was time to give my room a bit of a makeover. It had been feeling a little too plain for my liking, so I spent a few weekends curating and putting up some new pictures. Each one holds a special meaning, from snapshots of past travels to prints of my favorite artworks. The transformation was subtle but significant. Now, every time I walk into my room, it feels more like a sanctuary, a place that truly reflects who I am.

The highlight of the month, though, was undoubtedly the Latin party I attended with my friends in Cafe Velvet. It's been a while since we all got together for something this lively, and the night did not disappoint. The music was infectious, with beats that made it impossible to sit still. We danced for hours, laughing and enjoying the moment, completely lost in the rhythm. It was one of those nights where everything just clicks—the perfect combination of good music, great company, and an electric atmosphere. By the end of the night, we were all exhausted but grinning from ear to ear, already planning our next adventure.

May was a month that reminded me of the joy in small changes and shared experiences. From work to home to nights out with friends, it was a time filled with growth, connection, and a lot of fun.
