Description
The socio-cultural center “Die VILLA” is a modern youth, cultural and social institution close to the center of Leipzig. With over 100 events and courses each week, it offers a wide range of activities for every age group (from early music training with toddlers to back schooling for senior citizens) in a variety of genres (from choirs to youth theater groups).
The center, for instance, has five differently equipped event rooms, a media area, a self-help bicycle-repair center, the VILLA-café, a band practice room and sound labor, a shared apartment for young people engaged in voluntary service, youth club for children and youths, as well as the offices of various associations and initiatives.
We are looking for a volunteer for the music and cultural working field in "VILLA Keller" (band coaching, sound lab, open stage, theater and choir groups with children and youth).
Tasks:
- Supporting the “VILLA Keller” with their weekly events for music, communication, theater or band workshops (Open Stage, Youth Band Projects, language evenings, school band marathon, youth choir, song workshop, international band camps)
- supporting the team for the events as well as technic support for concerts and music events, therefore it is necessary that you’re interested in music and technic
- Are you playing instruments? Perfect! You will be invited to play your music on the stage during the events. (if you want)
- Supporting the holiday program for schoolkids and band workshops in schools
Selection criteria:
Volunteers should be open to get into contact with people from different ages, world views and religions. All should like to work with children and youth. Basic knowledge of German is a plus. You need to bring interest, knowledge and passion for music and instruments as well interest in music/band youth projects, a plus would be if you play a musical instrument.
Selection process:
Please complete the online questionnaire you find on our page. We collect all applications until the deadline, then all applications that are complete will be forwarded to JugendKulturKeller who decides about the candidate. The selection process takes 2–3 months. You will get an answer during or latest after 2 months.
